The 2017 version of Justice League is slowly being erased from existence. A few years back, a major fan campaign started almost immediately after the Joss Whedon directed justice league -popularly dubbed ‘Josstice League’- was released. It was a fan and box office disappointment and it launched one of the largest fan campaigns and hype trains in recent history.
Original director Zack Snyder stepped away from the project due to personal reasons and Warner Bros. brought in Joss Whedon to complete the film. Justice was demanded for the so-called “Snyder cut”, and now it’s safe to say, Justice was served.
For a few days now, Snyder and HBO max have been releasing new teases related to Zack Snyder’s Justice League, including the official synopsis, new posters, stills and teaser trailers that give us a sweet taste of Zack’s Vision.
Multiple differences from Joss Whedon’s version of the film have already been observed; which is not surprising considering the fact that 90% of Zack’s footage was cut from the 2017 movie, so be sure to expect a whole new experience.
Official Synopsis: Determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.
The movie is set after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice with an official runtime of 4 hours.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will release on March 18th exclusively on HBO Max.
