The Mandalorian, the critically acclaimed live action series from Disney+, has climbed close to the top of the Nielsen ranking of most streamed shows in the US.
Created by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Jungle Book), the latest entry to the Star Wars universe launched with an eight-episode first season that was well received by Star Wars fans.
Season Two, which premiered October 30, has climbed to 3rd place on Nielsen’s top ten list just two spots below Netflix’s breakout hit The Queen’s Gambit and just above Schitts Creek. The show’s debut season was ranked by google as 2019’s fifth most popular TV show (in the US) in a year when Game of Thrones was the show to beat.
African fans will be thrilled to see that Rick Famuyiwa, who gave us our first look at the force powers of Baby Yoda (Grogu) last season in episode 2 titled ‘The Child’, returns to the director’s chair in Episode 15.
Season Two Synopsis: The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire.
The Mandalorian is currently streaming on Disney+.
