With a stellar cast led by Richard Armitage as Logan, Ghanaian-American Eto Essandoh as Agent Tad Marshall and Celia Keenan-Bolger as Agent Sally Pierce, Wolverine: The Long Night has phenomenal sound production that transports its audience to the fictional town of Burns, Alaska and into a journey of discovery for the The Ol’ Canucklehead.
Marvel first announced the partnership with Stitcher Premium to produce a scripted podcast featuring the X-Men’s Wolverine in May last year for release in May of 2018 on Stitcher and wide release on other platforms last month.
For those who enjoy listening to podcasts and in particular to scripted podcasts, The Long Night is an immersive audio experience that’s a journey in a mystery with the Logan we’ve all come to love over the years. These days Wolverine is so well known to the public thanks to all the comics, cartoons and movies he’s been in that he’s a little over-exposed.
This tale feels like a return to the visceral tales that first endeared him to fans as Logan seeks again to fill gaps in his memory. The 10-episode series is available on Stitcher, Google Podcasts and Apple Podcasts.
Wolverine: The Long Night is written by Benjamin Percy and the production team includes Brendan Baker (Love & Radio) and sound designer Chloe Prasinos (Reply All). Daniel Fink of Marvel and Jenny Radelet of Stitcher produced the series.
Following a string of mysterious deaths in Burns, Alaska, Special Agents Sally Pierce and Tad Marshall arrive to investigate. They soon find there’s more going on than meets the eye.
Wolverine: The Long Night is Marvel’s first scripted podcast and opens up the possibility of a “Marvel Podcast Universe”. It stars Celia Keenan-Bolger and Ato Essandoh as Agents Pierce and Marshall, with Richard Armitage as Wolverine. Also featuring are Scott Adsit, Bob Balaban, Zoe Chao, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, and Brian Stokes Mitchell.
